Parties and Parties Living in a mobile home - parties every day and night Lock me up in a pleasure suit - slap my back and I’ll go out Blame it on the carsick pills - too much sun or lack of sleep Living out of rubbish tins since the world began to fade last week And I’ve had too much to drink so I don’t have to think I’ve had too much to drink so I don’t have to think I’m not exactly celibate but there’s not a lot to celebrate Come over here I can hardly wait just tell me when I salivate See the world through paper cups crowded ashtrays through my lips Nothing ever slows me up I’m going down at a rapid clip And I’ve had too much to drink so I don’t have to think I’ve had too much to drink so I don’t have to think Jon McLeary

One Way Step Heat streams through the open seams where I’ve come to make my big play She’s clean she’s a real hard chase but it was never meant to be easy No bar is safe when she hits the crease the conversation hits the hill retreats And I’m in later with the running sheets – oh no I’m not the beast One way step - won’t waste it One way step - won’t waste it Word curls through the sunny spells where she’s the bowling and the green She’s the message on the face of the book it was better not to re-read I’m going to jump into the coral sea if I can reach the surface when I need to breathe And there’s a sunken smile that I can fill with teeth - oh no I’m not the beast I’m not the beast - I’m not the beast One way step - won’t waste it One way step - won’t waste it Time sits like a growing child on the banks of my inner peace Lights the flame round the old flesh wound it was better not to re-heat Well I’m going to tell you what is going to be if I can reach the paper before it reaches the streets I’m not the monster I’m supposed to think - oh no I’m not the beast I’m not the beast - I’m not the beast

Punch. 03:15
Punch I been waiting here for you an hour Where do you call this then where we been? I could have been ice I could have been stone I got a wife and children they look warm Here come Judy with the babby With nothing to eat in the frying pan I’m getting terrible hungry Judy Why don’t we put the babby in? I gone down and hit the babby Judy’s not looking too pleased at all I hit them both again and again I’ll have to eat Judy now as well Up come Jack Ketch he’s looking at trubba He sees what happened to Judy and the babby I knock him dead but he’s up coming back I got a hunch he climbs on that Jon McLeary

Pokerface. 02:52
Pokerface I like it on the other side I go there when I’m feeling tired Hard to shave a double chin Hard to get the razor in Do it slow or you’ll cut your skin Pokerface is wearing thin I like it in the photographs Hiding on your walls behind their glass Cutting down your family tree Being yourself where you’re meant to be Standing in groups at the cemetery Sounds a lot like you to me And you know who I am Can you feel my breath Make a mess of your neck What do you do next? Can you see my death to my left Is that why you left Me? I like it in the other room Can I go back inside there soon? The way you walk when you’re running late Just another call to make Don’t mind me I like to wait Slows me down but that’s ok And you know who I am Can you feel my breath Make a mess of your neck What do you do next? Can you see my death to my left Is that why you left Me? I like it on the other side I go there when I’m feeling tired Jon McLeary

Death Commandos Will you listen to my plan or will you leave? I’m tired of wondering what to do Should be back at home with your personality I’m tired of trying not to laugh And don’t sell your soul before you get inside the door You never really know what it’s like until you go And will you stop whiling away its time to scream or make a deal You cant get out now that I’ve seen it sitting back at home with your self-esteem And don’t say it’s over now cos you don’t know Where I got the goal to get to where I am now And death commandos show up around the place Pick out the best pardon the rest I like my life so much better after they came And now they’re gone and I’m still here yet And you’re still here whiling away with your strange dramatic appearance You cant get out now that I’ve seen it sitting back at home in your electric chair And don’t say you told me so cos you don’t know Where I had to go to get to where I am now And don’t sell your soul before you get inside the door You never really know what it’s like until you go And death commandos show up around the place Pick out the best pardon the rest I like my life so much better after they came And now they’re gone and I’m still here yet Jon McLeary
6.
You Should See My House Come with me and I’ll take you some place You should see my house and its name in all this You should see my house - you should see my house I’ll get the chairs and I’ll tell you one thing You should feel my pulse and it’s beating through this You should see my health - you should see my health And I won’t beg any number on you And I won’t shy away under your legs And I will pay any price that you name How much is my heart in all this? Come with me and I’ll break you someplace You should feel my pulse and it’s beating through this You should see my house - you should see my house And I won’t beg any number on you And I won’t shy away under your legs And I will pay any price that you name How much is my heart in all this? Jon McLeary

Beverly 03:14
Beverly (Prepare To Scream) Beverly’s got a smiling face when I see her there with my naked eye Just come to life to check the time Looks at me like a steamy bath and I wash my face and I let it dry Lifting the mask off a dirty mind Sometimes she really gets her hands tied - in fact it happens all the time And she’s always getting caught and always escaping And she’s always mistaking me for someone else I don’t blame her though I do it myself I walk around wishing I was somewhere else I’m dead scared of winning Beverly’s got a dead straight face and she sees the world through narrowed eyes Maybe she needs glasses in her mind Or perhaps she needs another limb to replace the one that got cut off when The lights had changed and she was colourblind Sometimes she really gets her hands tied - in fact it happens more and more And she’s always getting caught and always escaping And she’s always mistaking me for someone else I don’t blame her though I do it myself I walk around wishing I was someone else I’m dead scared of women Beverly’s got sunken eyes and she walks around my room at night

Are You Withered or Not? There’s no water – at least we won’t drown Or go sailing – if we don’t want to Or get sea-sick – I’ll be back in a minute There’s no water - we won’t get flooded There’s no light- we won’t get complacent Or get blinded – we’re sitting right in it Or have to look at – untidy faces There’s no light - it’s a laugh a minute Another lip-stained face with the clothes and body under it There’s no air – we won’t talk too much Or have to choke – when someone opens their lunch Or go breathing – if we don’t need to There’s no air – it’s a laugh a minute Are you withered or not? Are you withered or not? Are you withered or not? Are you withered or not? There’s no earth – we won’t sit around Or go digging - if we don’t want to Or get dirty – our face and our hands There’s no earth – I don’t know where I stand Another lip-stained face with the clothes and body under it Another lip-stained face with the clothes and body under it Are you withered or not? Are you withered or not? Are you withered or not? Are you withered or not?

The Heels. 02:11
The Heels Mira was always well heeled she had platforms for a shield She could kick them very high but she was never really real She’d sit around the house for hours and hours on end With the vultures and the men But she’d kick them out of bed when they got past being friends Now she hurries home the park the dark the rain She does it every night now she’s doing it again Never has any trouble but tonight’s not quite the same Underneath the light a man standing looking strange Mira was always well braced she had pancake for a face Couldn’t look her in the eye without feeling chased I wonder how she feels with her diamonds and her deals Now she’s caught beneath the wheels in the cut that never heals Under someone else’s heels Now she hurries home battered thighs and battered hips Now she’s all alone her dress is all in rips The rain’s still coming down but now it only drips Underneath the light a man standing taking sips Jon McLeary

Losing Colour I’m losing colour I’m not about to slow down Sometimes I shudder at the thought of being seen around Occasionally I lash out on a red or something else that’s bright and safe Usually I’m back amongst the murk and that and hide in grey I get run over by a car on every second day Makes me embarrassed I have to hide my bloody head away Occasionally I lash out on a red or something else that’s bright and safe Usually I’m back amongst the murk and that and hide in grey I run for cover when I have a fit in a public place Makes me embarrassed I have to run away and hide my bloody face Occasionally I lash out on a red or something else that’s bright and safe Usually I’m back amongst the murk and that and hide in grey Hide in grey – hide in grey Hide in grey – hide in grey Jon McLeary
